Kahnawake Gaming Commission 2013 Dispute Stats
Thursday January 23 ,2014 : KAHNAWAKE GAMING COMMISSION DISPUTE STATS RELEASED
Slow or no payment disputes continue to dominate complaints against KGC licensees.
The Kahnawake Gaming Commission's official disputes officer has released details of complaints against KGC licensees over the period January 1 2013 to December 31 2013, showing a remarkably low level of player beefs, given the large number of operators licensed by the Quebec, Canada First Nation regulatory jurisdiction.
317 new complaints were added to a hold-over of 332 outstanding cases from the preceding year for a total of 649 complaints.
86 of the new complaints were not accepted as valid, and 311 complaints concerning Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet (UB.com) could not be dealt with due to the seizure of all Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet (UB.com) assets by the U.S. Department of Justice on April 15, 2011.
The remaining 252 acceptable complaints fell into the following categories:
* 41 complaints pertained to locked or closed player accounts;
* 118 complaints concerned late, delayed, or non-payment to player - a subject that attracted the most complaints;
* 37 complaints were about questions of fairness on operator sites;
* 56 complaints were categorised as miscellaneous.
At the end of the year the status of these complaints was:
* 18 remain unresolved, pending, or outstanding and have been carried over to 2014.
* 234 have been resolved:
(a) 124 or 52,99 percent closed as unfounded;
(b) 110 or 47.01 percent were resolved in favour of the player after mediation with the relevant operator.
