How to Play Downtown Vegas Blackjack
This version of Blackjack is played using 2 Decks of Cards which are shuffled after each hand. There are 5 playing positions you can choose from. You can play one hand of blackjack at a time.
The goal is for the player's hand to add up to 21 or have a hand that is higher than the dealer. Dealer must Draw to Soft 17 and Stand on Hard 17 or higher.
How to Play When starting the blackjack game for the first time the blackjack table is empty – no cards or wagers are on the table and the default wager amount is active. Hands in Downtown Vegas Blackjack
A hand that exceeds 21 (busts) loses, even if the dealer also goes BUST. If the dealer goes BUST but the player's hand is under 21, the player wins.
A hand which is dealt an Ace and a 10 or a face card win, unless the dealer also has a BLACKJACK – a PUSH.
Any combination of cards that contains an Ace whose value is 11 referred to as a ‘Soft Hand’.
A hand which purchased Insurance wins if the dealer has a BLACKJACK – you will break even if the dealer doesn't have a BLACKJACK the INSURANCE bet loses.
If the dealer's hand total and the player's hand total are the same, then the hand is a tie or PUSH and the player's bet is returned.
If the dealer's hand and the player's hand are both under 21, these hands are compared. If the player's hand is closer to 21 the player wins, if the dealer's hand is closer to 21 the player loses.
The dealer deals two cards to the player position which has a wager and deals two cards for the dealer. One of the dealer's cards remains face down and all other cards are turned face up. Dealer always peeks for Blackjack before your turn in case there is an Ace or a 10 value card showing.
Once all cards are dealt and Dealer checks for Blackjack, you are able to Hit , or Stand your bet. When applicable, you are able to Split, Double, or buy Insurance.
If your dealt hand contains an Ace and a 10 or a face card, then you have a Blackjack, also called a Natural, and play ends.
If the value of your hand exceeds 21, then you have gone Bust and have lost this hand.
When the player's hand is completed, the dealer's hand is played out. Once the dealer's hand is complete, your hand is compared to the dealer's hand to determine win or loss and to update your casino account balance accordingly.
To play again you click on the Rebet button and then click on the Deal button.
Rules of Downtown Vegas Blackjack : General Game Rules:
This version of blackjack is played with 2 decks of cards (with the jokers removed) that are shuffled after the completion of every game.
You may draw as many additional cards as you want as long as the value of your hand does not exceed 21. If you go over 21, you go bust, and you automatically loose the hand.
Dealer always Draws to Soft 17 and Stands on Hard 17 or higher.
If the dealer's hand and the player's hand are both under 21, the hands are compared. If the player's hand is closer to 21 the player wins, if the dealer's hand is closer to 21 the player loses.
Face cards (the Jack, Queen and King) and 10s all have a value of ten.
An Ace has a value of either 1 or 11. Any combination of cards that contains an Ace card and whose value does not exceed 21 is referred to as a ‘soft hand’. An Ace adopts the value most beneficial for your hand. For example, an Ace and eight will add up to 19 but if the player chooses to take another card that would cause the hand's value to exceed 21 the Ace will revert to a value of 1.
If you are dealt an Ace and a 10 or face card this is called a Blackjack and your hand will Stand automatically. If you beat the dealer with a Blackjack, you are paid out at 3 to 2.
Dealer always checks / peeks for Blackjack before your turn if there is an Ace or a 10-value card (10, J, Q, K) showing. One Dealer card is dealt face up (the up card) and the other face down (the hole card). If the Dealer has a ten or an ace as the up card, it is possible he has a Blackjack in which case Player's hand will lose except with another Blackjack. The dealer will check for Blackjack if one is possible, immediately after the cards are dealt to the player, and will collect the losing bet immediately if he does have a Blackjack. Player loses total amount bet against Dealer in such a case. If the Dealer does not have a Blackjack, the game continues.
If the Dealer’s up card is an Ace, Insurance will be offered to the Player, only then will the Dealer peek.
If you are dealt a pair you may Split your hand. This means that your pair is divided into two separate hands with two separate wagers. A second wager – equal to your original wager – is automatically placed on your second hand. Both hands are played as separate hands.
If you are dealt two cards with a value of 10 (10, J, Q, K) you may split your hand. This means that your pair is divided into two separate hands with two separate wagers. A second wager – equal to your original wager – is automatically placed on your second hand. Both hands are played as separate hands.
If you split Aces, you will receive only 1 more card to complete your hand and if the second card is a face card or 10 it is not a Blackjack. Such a hand would have a value of 21. It beats the dealer's hand value less than 21 and ties – called a Push – against the dealer's hand value of 21 except if the dealer's hand is a Blackjack. This rule also applies to splitting pairs of cards with a value of ten. Should you split a pair of tens (or face cards) and then receive an ace this hand is not a Blackjack.
Re-splitting is allowed. The player can re-split up to twice on an already split hand (for a total of four hands), but cannot re-split Aces.
You may Double any hand after you receive your two cards. This will double your original wager.
After Double, you will only receive 1 more card to complete your hand.
Double after Split is allowed except when you are Splitting Aces. The wager costs as much as your original bet, but should you win, you will be paid double your total wager.
If the dealer's face up card is an Ace, you may purchase Insurance. Insurance is purchased prior to playing your hand (s).
If you purchase Insurance and then Split your hand, the hand will no longer be covered by Insurance.
If you purchase insurance and then Double your hand, the initial wager is doubled.
