So Im sure everyone has heard by now that it is all over for U.S. Poker players and gamblers. Im here to tell you that is not completly true , and i will explain it in plain english why .
The Gambling act of 2006 is targeting financial institutions "Banks" and "credit Card Processors" from making
transfers to online gambling sites , this is nothing new. I know from personal experience that i have not been able to make a credit card transfer to a gambing site since 2001 . Most online gamblers do not use Credit cards to fund there accounts they use 3rd party processors such as neteller , payspark or moneybookers.
It is worth noting that the act is primarily related to financial transactions between gaming businesses and banks and no penalties have been introduced to to discourage individual citizens who wish to play poker online. We will continually monitor the legislative changes and obtain detailed legal advice on this situation, but for now it is business as usual for most rooms.
Some of the publicaly owned poker sites such as Partypoker and Pacific Poker has stopped accepting wagers from U.S. players for the time being untill the bill is clarified as there is still some confusion on what the bill means , and they may resume gaming at any time once the law is clarified.
Now heres a little advice stay away from small unknown poker rooms , the reason being is they might use this law as a reason to not pay you , so i would advise sticking with the major guys that are still accepting wagers from the United States , Such as Poker.com , Hollywoodpoker.com , or Ultimatebet.com . Of course there are many other casinos and poker rooms accepting U.S. players and we are currently contacting all online rooms and are completing a complete list of all Honest gaming sites that are still accepting U.S. wagers , you may find the list at U.S. Allowed Poker Rooms And Casinos.
