Posted 1/11/11 : Representatives of licensing jurisdictions will be travelling to London to network and observe
The 2011 ICE show and conferences, running at Earl's Court in London between 25th and 27th January, has already attracted over 100 gaming regulators and government officials, the organisers report this week.
Representatives from jurisdictions stretching from Sweden to Swaziland, Belgium to Bulgaria, Gibraltar to Ghana and Singapore to Slovenia will be looking over some 400 exhibitors spread across 20,000 square metres of stand space.
ICE Show Director Kate Chambers believes that the attendance of such an impressive number of regulators is an important but often overlooked feature of the exhibition.
“Having so many influential regulators coming to ICE is recognition of the show’s international status and the reputation it enjoys amongst legislators and influencers,” she said.
“The reasons they come to London are exactly the same as those of our 20,000 buyers. Both groups attend because they know that ICE hosts the world’s smartest innovators and the biggest names in global gaming.”
Chambers said that regulators used the show to experience the sheer size of the industry in its fullest sense, taking the opportunity to familiarise themselves with new technologies that are transforming the industry, and the socially responsible nature of international gaming.
“Being able to listen to the industry, to witness it in action and to see the calibre of companies that are involved delivers a potentially huge benefit to the business particularly as more jurisdictions look to a liberalisation of gaming as one method of helping to fund budget deficits,” she opined.
