Tigers Looking for the Sweep and Divisional Supremacy against Royals

The Detroit Tigers were in control against the Kansas City Royals who were prepared to make the Tigers work for their wins. Half a game back on the Chicago White Socks, Detroit missed a valuable opportunity to vault them into first place in the American League Central. The usual problems plagued the Tigers who were showing signs of their former selves and managed a 5-4 victory off a solid outing by Rick Porcello. Betting websites are making a killing off the Tigers who are heating up at just the right time.

Losing close games by one run has become a nasty habit for the Tigers who have played mediocrely since the all-star break. The Royals batters were stifled by Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello who was finally able to get a win with help from the Tigers offense. Last night the Tigers were able to lift find their offensive abilities again and pulled a crucial 5-4 win out. The Tigers who desperately needed a win turned the game on its head with a crucial slide from Andy Dirks to break-up a double play that would’ve cost the Tigers the winning run.

Fortunately for the Tigers last night’s game was one where Cabrera had a relatively poor night and didn’t put up the numbers the Tigers have relied on to power them into the playoffs. Never the less Cabrera is still chasing both the Triple Crown and the MVP titles for this season. Cabrera still holds top spot for batting average as well as RBIs and is one back on Texas Ranger’s Josh Hamilton with forty-two.
The Tigers on the other hand have to deal with the Kansas City Royals for one more game and who are also looking to get out of the 2012 season with a couple more wins.

Although the Royals are all but done for the season, they can still play spoiler to a very tight American League Central race. With only two weeks left any loss for the Tigers could be a costly one and the Royals have the chance to do just that. Betting on the Tigers to perform consistently however could prove the biggest problem in the next week and a half.
The good news for the Tigers is that the Chicago White Socks lost to the Cleveland Indians 6-4 which extended the Tigers hold on the division to one game. Had the White Socks won their games the Tigers would have likely been put into a hole they would not have bounced back from. The time for the Tigers to take extend the lead in the American League Central is now.

Chicago is wrapping up a crushing three game set against the Cleveland Indians and starts a four game series against the red hot Devil Rays tonight. The Tigers will be thanking Cleveland and hoping on Tampa to keep the sometimes floundering White Socks at bay.
The problem for the Tigers is their inconsistency and one can bet that if the Tigers are going to get into the playoffs they need to find the offensive magic from 2011 again. Although the Tigers are on paper the much better team the last few weeks have proven Detroit is not a team that can be relied on to deliver the wins. In the world of online sports betting putting money on the Tigers is a risk-takers dream because of how inconsistent the Tigers are on a nightly basis.
