FOURTEEN MEMBERS OF CONGRESS NOW SUPPORT BARTON POKER BILL


Wednesday July 13, 2011 : Three more Democrats join bipartisan co-sponsorship base
 
HR 2366, the Online Poker Act of 2011 that seeks to legalise online poker in the United States, has attracted a further three Democrat members of Congress to its growing number of co-sponsors, bringing the total to date to 14.
 
Texas Republican Joe Barton introduced the bill late last (June) month to the House of Representatives via the Energy and Commerce Committee, for which Barton is a former chairman.
 
The latest co-sponsors to sign up for the bill are Jim Moran, Jared Polis and Rob Andrews, who join earlier sponsors that include  have all attached their names to the bill, bringing the total number of co-sponsors to 14. Other co-sponsors include Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NV), Rep. John Campbell (R-CA), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY), Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA), Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-CO), and Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA).
