Internet version of famous Leicester Square land casino approaching launch
The owners of the London-based Hippodrome Casino have announced the appointment of George Constantinou as director of online operations in advance of the company's forthcoming partnership deal with Pokerstars.
Constantinou's responsibilities include the upcoming launch of the Hippodrome’s new Microgaming-designed online and mobile casino site at www.hippodromecasino.com, which will be operated by the Betway online casino group. Online poker on the site will be provided by Pokerstars.
Constantinou is also charged with developing the Hippodrome’s affiliate network and exploring further internet partnerships and media relationships.
A veteran of Pokeroom.com, at one time one of the largest and most successful online poker operations, Constantinou has wide experience in UK marketing and media affiliate deals. He has also been involved in business development as a director of skill gaming firm Serious Trivia, where he established partnerships with Fox, Football League, Bauer and MTV.
The Hippodrome – Pokerstars parttnership has big plans for the Leicester Square premises that include a state-of-the-art poker deck. From 2013, the Hippodrome will host a slew of new Pokerstars’ sponsored tournaments and special events which the site will promote to its customer base of 50 million registered players. PokerStars has a minority stockholding in the Hippodrome Casino as part of the deal.
