Allan Le claims the honours in inaugural $1,500 buy-in Omaha Eight-or-Better Mixed event.
 
Allan Le (30) lived up to and surpassed the proud records of his poker-playing relatives Tommy and Nam Le over the weekend, taking the honours and earning his first bracelet in the new World Series of Poker schedule addition, the $1,500 buy-in Omaha Eight-or-Better Mixed competition.
 
The California poker pro has 30 WSOP cashes and two final tables to his credit, and has earned almost $700,000 in his career thus far, but said that the bracelet – which puts him one up on his relatives – was among the most satisfying.  The winners $189,223 clearly pleased him too.
 
Le survived a field of 668, which illustrated the popularity of the inaugural event and the $901,800 prize pool it generated.
 
Among those in the field were several bracelet holders and respected names like Jason Somerville, Michael Mizrachi, Ted Forrest,John Monnette, Mike Leaf, David Bach, Vladimir Shchemelev, Yuval Bronshstein, Ofer Stern, Barry Greenstein, Eli Elezra and Gavin Smith.
 
Le emerged from the final table with a massive 10 to 1 lead over his last opponent, German ace Philipp Eirisch, and it did not take long for that overwhelming chip stack to push the German out of the game for a runner-up cash of $116,915.
