Andy Frankenberger Wins PartyPoker Premier League Mixed Championship

Former New York stock trader Andy Frankenberger has emerged triumphant in the PartyPoker Premier League Mixed Championship, winning the main prize of $100 000 and the respect of his opponents.
 
Frankenberger started final table play as the short stack but by dint of shrewd moves and disciplined aggression he managed to best the opposition and ultimately wrench victory from the grasp of his final opponent, Andrew Feldman from the UK.
 
The format of the championship required that 12 players, split into two groups, played three separate heats in No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha. All players had “double up” cards with which they could they could use their experience and judgement to earn double points in any heat.
 
Top exponents of the game like James Dempsey, Mike Sexton, Jennifer Tilly, Tony G, Luke Schwartz, Max Pescatori, Sorel Mizzi and Matt Giannetti were among the players selected to compete in the high profile tournament.
 
The final six survivors were Frankenberger and Feldman, Sorel Mizzi, Max Pescatori, James Dempsey and Matt Giannetti.
 
The heads up between Frankenburger and Feldman lasted for over two hours as the duo wrestled for supremacy, but it all ended when Frankenberger made a straight with K-T to Feldman’s K-Q., showing his last opponent the route to the exit and his runner up payout of $65 000.
 
Frankenberger's prize includes a seat in the PartyPoker Premier League final next year.
