Antonio Esfandiari, the chip leader at the start of the second day of the World Poker Tour Festa al Lago, has been knocked out the tournament.

Despite starting the day with a chip count that would have seen him hold ninth place had he held onto the same quantity, The Magician was sent to the rail by Daniel Negreanu.

Kid Poker took a sizeable chunk of the Iranian-born players stack when his set of jacks defeated Esfandiari's pocket rockets.

It was the beginning of the end for Esfandiari and a few hands later, his A-J ran into Negreanu's A-Q, ending his impressive early run in the competition.

Only 104 players remain in the competition to play on October 23rd to fight their way through the final levels to try and reach the top 50 money bubble.

Esfandiari has won on one occasion on the World Poker Tour and made the final table three times.
