Poker Pro Dwan Down Over 3 Million This Week

11/12/09 – Internet poker pro Tom Dwan is renowned for the huge swings in his fortunes due to an audacious playing style, but this has been an especially bad week for the young pro.

The cause of most of Dwan's heartache has been an unidentified Swedish high stakes online player who uses the nickname ‘Isildur1' who has been wreaking havoc with a remarkable winning run on the Full Tilt virtual high stakes tables.

In the most recent session Dwan ended up $460 000 in the red to the Swedish player on the $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold'em tables.

Dwan and Isildur1 have clashed heads up for the last three nights, with Isildur1 emerging in profit on every occasion….to Dwan's cost. To be specific – $2.3 million over the three nights.

The clashes with Isildur1 have generated massive pots, according to the independent records at MarketPulse; the three largest pots of the most recent night were typical – $588 000, $611 000 and $695 000, the latter being the biggest pot recorded this year.

Dwan has fortunately managed to triumph on other games and against different opponents to top up his depleted account. He took the formidable Ilari Sahamies for $520 000 on the scary $500/$1,000  Pot Limit Omaha tables, but is still down on the week by about $3 million.
