Ministry lists incorrect address allowing addict to continue gambling
The French Government is being sued for Euro 100 000 by a French gambling addict for failing to safeguard his interests after he registered for inclusion on the voluntary gambling exclusion list.
The Interior Ministry reportedly registered the 37-year-old man under the incorrect address allowing him to slip through the net allowing him continued access to unnamed online poker websites, said the unidentified man's lawyer Emmanuel Ludot.
Associated Press reports that 36 000 people are currently registered on the self-exclusion list which must be referenced before allowing new player sign-ups.
The Government declined to comment as the case is sub judice.
