GAMBLING MAGS TAKEN OVER BY GAMING BUSINESS MEDIA
Gaming Business Media, the independent publishing company headed by John Sullivan, has announced its purchase of the two times award-winning International Casino Review together with sister titles Coinslot International and Betting Business. All three publications were acquired from Amusement Trades Ltd, a subsidiary of Clarion Events.
The purchase covers all assets and intellectual properties relating to the three publications. The titles join international soft gaming and amusements periodical Games World within the GBMedia portfolio of print publications.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Sullivan said: “Gaming Business Media is now the world’s biggest dedicated and independent publishing house serving the international gaming, gambling and betting sectors boasting three monthly titles, associated stand alone publications and the world’s only year-round weekly print title covering amusements and low stake high volume gaming.
“Since launching Casino Review in October 2002, the entire team at GBM has played their part helping to develop it into the flagship award winning publication that it is today. As part of the sale agreement with Clarion, I am pleased to confirm that both organisations will continue to work closely together serving and representing the international casino industry.”
Julian Graves, managing director of Clarion Gaming Exhibitions, commented: “It was very important for us to feel comfortable and safe in the knowledge that the publications were in the proper hands. The team in place at Gaming Business Media is steeped in industry knowledge and is committed to taking the publications to the next stage in their development.
"It is vital for everyone involved in the business at large that we have a healthy, imaginative and responsible trade media. We are looking forward to working with GBM as the casino industry responds to the challenges of operating in the years ahead. Our best wishes and congratulations go to the entire team at Gaming Business Media which has made International Casino Review such a respected publication.”
