Matthew Whalen appointed global technology chief at GTech

3/6/10 – The major online and land gambling technology provider GTech has announced the appointment as Senior Vice-President: Global Technology Solutions of Matthew Whalen.
 
US-based GTech is a subsidiary of the Italian group Lottomatica, and Whalen's responsibilities include all aspects of its software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, implementations, customer acceptance and ongoing services for a global customer base.
 
Jaymin Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer for GTech said this week: "Matt is a seasoned lottery professional who brings over 16 years of industry expertise to our worldwide customer-facing technology organisation. Whalen joined GTech in 1994 as a software engineer with a degree in computer information systems from the College Of Saint Rose in Albany, New York. He holds an Applied Associate’s Degree in science with a major in computer science from the State University Of New York at Morrisville.
