The San Francisco developer of next generation mobile technologies, Real Dice, launched its Multiplayer Championship Poker software for the iPhone and iPod Touch this week. Featuring live multiplayer capability, ring games, “sit-n-go” tournaments and multi-table events every 15 minutes, the software gives mobile Apple users the

ability to connect with thousands of players from around the world at all hours and every day.

Available through iTunes download stores the game allows iPhone and iPod Touch customers to pull up a virtual chair and play Texas Hold’em with the 300 000 users who are already online on a variety of other devices, said Russ McMahon, Director of Mobile Development at Real Dice.

“We’ve developed the game so players from every supported system can play live games together no matter which handset they have. This means that you can log in with your iPhone while you’re sitting at the airport and play with your Blackberry-loving best friend or take on a complete stranger who’s logged in through Facebook on the Web,” he said.

In addition to the game’s real-time multiplayer mode, there is an offline option to play alone, practice and build a Poker career against 200 unique ‘artificial intelligence' opponents. The application also offers a comprehensive strategy guide for all levels, as well as free desktop and Facebook versions, which all integrate.
