Isildur 1 gets his revenge

2/18/10 – The still unidentified Swedish high stakes online poker player with the ninja avatar, Isildur1, continued his winning run Tuesday, again appearing on the Full Tilt nosebleed tables to take on the Internet's best pros.

It must have been a particularly satisfying session for the Swedish player, because among his victims this time was Brian Hastings, the Cardrunners pro who controversially took Isildur1 down last year for a record $4.2 million.

The Hastings-Isildur1 clash was the event of the day as the two battled across six $300/$600 Pot-Limit Omaha tables for almost a thousand hands before Hastings retreated, having contributed $505 000 to Isildur1's already bulging bankroll from previous encounters with other top players.

Those encounters included winning $116 800 off Ilari Sahamies over 625 hands of $200/$400 PLO and four tables of Six-Max $300/$600 PLO against Tom Dwan, Di "Urindanger" Dang, Gus Hansen and Jani Vilmunen, where the Swede took in a further $247 000 over 640 hands. Largest pot of the session – a $254 387 treasure chest went to the intrepid Swede in a hand against Dwan.

Isildur1 logged off Tuesday with another $869 000 to add to his over $800 000 in profit accrued over the last few days.

For the week 9 to 15 February the top earners according to Poker News statistics were: Cole South (up $2 857 000), Gus Hansen (up $2 366 000), Alexander Kostritsyn (up $1 839 000) and David Oppenheim ( up $1 459 000).

Well known names going through a bad patch at present are: Patrik Antonius ( down $1 725 000), and Brian Townsend (down $1 618 000).
