Top Australian poker player Joe Hachem has teamed up with cricketer and card game enthusiast Shane Warne to host a charity poker tournament.

It will be held at the Crowne Casino in Melbourne and is due to start on October 27th.

The proceeds from the event will go to underprivileged children in the Australia via the Shane Warne Foundation.

Among the celebrities expected to turn up are Jeff Fenech, Brian McFadden, Brodie Harper and Jon Stevens.

In order to compete in the competition, entrants will have to fork out a $1,000 buy-in, although if they emerge triumphant they will earn $25,000 for their efforts.

To date, Warne's foundation has raised in excess of $1.7 million to benefit charities and individuals in need of aid.

Down Under's cricket hero is a formidable opponent on the felt as well as at the crease and has been signed by 888.com to represent them in a variety of tournaments.
