Kevin Steele Wins Pokerstars Sunday Million TWICE

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 : UK AMATEUR POKER FAN WINS SUNDAY MILLIONS – TWICE

In just four months, UK amateur Kevin Steel has triumphed in the Pokerstars Sunday Million tournament.

The weekend saw a UK amateur player, Kevin Steele, achieve a rare accomplishment – his Second Pokerstars Sunday Million victory…and he managed to do it just four months after his first triumph in the famous online poker tournament.

Steele (36) hails from Plunginton, Preston, and only started playing poker about six years ago in low bet games with friends online.

In July this year he bested a field of over 6,000 online hopefuls to take down his first Sunday Million competition, winning $128,798 and change.  Since then he has been a regular player online, honing his skills.

That all paid off this weekend when he joined a field of almost 7 000 players and prevailed to win his second Sunday Millions title and $168,839 – a windfall that could have been higher had he not earlier agreed to a four-way chop with other finalists, whom he went on to eliminate one by one.

Although two-time wins of the Sunday Millions is not unheard of, it is a rare accomplishment. Steele has two predecessors in the honour: Juan Maceiras ‘vietcong01' Barros, and Jesper “Kipster23” Hougaard.
