December 14,2011 : CZECH PLAYER WINS POKERSTARS' 72 BILLIONTH HAND
Low roller wins $24,300
Tuesday saw Pokerstars achieve its 72nd billionth hand of poker, with six players sharing $100 000 in special bonuses and the winner of the hand, a player from the Czech Republic, taking home the pot and an additional $24,300.
The hand fell on a $0.02/$0.05 NL 6-max table, where low roller ‘Kozlicek_x' won the hand when he shoved all-in before the flop with a pair of sevens, prompting a similar action from the other players at his virtual table. However, the Czech player flopped a set and held, winning not only the $27 pot but also Pokerstars' $24,300 celebratory bonus.
‘Kozlicek_x”s reaction was reportedly both laconic and succinct – "Holy goat!"
His opponents at the table each received between $12,150 and $15,000 – not a bad consolation for losing an average $5 apiece.
The 72 billionth hand was a part of the ten year anniversary celebrations at Pokerstars, which include a $10,000 High Roller event and the 10th Anniversary Sunday Millions Guaranteed $10 million tournament scheduled later this week.
