Unanimous approval For Nevada Internet Poker

12/23/2011 : NEVADA GAMING CONTROL BOARD SIGNS OFF ON INTERNET POKER REGS (Update)

Unanimous approval for draft regulations achieved

Thursday's meeting in Las Vegas of the Nevada Gaming Control Board produced a positive outcome for intrastate online poker in the gambling state when Board members voted unanimously to adopt the regulations drawn up by the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The new regulations, drawn up on the orders of the Nevada Legislature earlier this year, are the first comprehensive regulatory standards for online poker in the U.S and could form the basis for legal test cases as other states and the federal government move increasingly toward legalization.

The historic mid-afternoon gathering of the Board  delivered a 4-0 vote to approve the draft regulations, which are sufficiently thorough and comprehensive to use in a wider sense should the federal government pass nation-wide legalization laws on internet gambling in general or poker in particular.
