Online Poker Still Growing


3/9/10 – Pokerscout, the independent site that generates ongoing and accurate online poker statistics says in its report for the week ended March 7 that online poker traffic climbed 1 percent overall, with six of the top 10 sites and networks making useful gains.
 
"After weeks of losing ground to PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker logged a solid increase for the second straight week, rising 5 percent," Pokerscouts informs. "During the PokerStars 40 billionth hand promotion, Full Tilt had briefly fallen below half the size of its larger rival, but is now safely above that mark."

"After surging ahead to sixth place with a 12 percent rise last week, Cereus Network fell back to seventh with a corresponding 12 percent drop," the poker stats site advises.
 
"IPN took over sixth place from Cereus. Svenska Spel and PacificPoker traded places again in the 12th and 13th positions, with Svenska Spel coming out on top this time after a 7 percent traffic boost."
 
Operators will be relieved to hear that year-on-year the worldwide online poker market continues to grow at a healthy pace, with online poker traffic increasing at an annual rate of 21 percent.
 
Topping the Pokerscout list in terms of percentage gains in traffic for the week were:
