Chief of staff to former Toronto mayor will head lottery corporation
Rod Phillips has been appointed new president and chief executive officer of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp from 10 June 2011.
The embattled lottery firm has been rocked by an insider-win scandals and millions in executive expense claims in the past few years.
Finance Minister Dwight Duncan fired then CEO Kelly McDougald and replaced the firm’s board of directors in an attempt to curb corruption and dubious dealings.
"My first priority will be to learn as much as I can by listening to our customers, patrons, stakeholders and employees," said Phillips.
