1/14/10 – The collaborative deal between the new online gambling activities of gaming giant SegaGaming and gambling software provider Playtech was confirmed this week. The agreement has been common knowledge since the EiG exhibition in Copenhagen last October.
Playtech said in a statement that its agreement is with SegaGames Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of gaming entertainment giant SEGA Corporation, to provide a range of its online products within SEGA Games' online gambling platforms SEGAPoker.com and SEGACasino.com.
The announcement comes on the heels of a statement from software provider CTXM earlier today, which has also signed up to provide games to SegaGaming.
Under the terms of the Playtech licence agreement, SegaGames Limited will offer a full suite of premier online based poker and casino games developed and designed in collaboration with Sega's Research and Development team and Playtech designers.
The software showcases many of Sega's proprietary IP including Virtua Fighter, House of the Dead, Phantasy Star and Nights, with many other online casino games. SEGACasino will feature a comprehensive suite of gaming products – including casino games like Blackjack, Roulette and customised Sega- branded slots
At SEGAPoker.com, users will find a live multiplayer poker room with head-to-head and tournament play and global action from up to 35 000 concurrent players.
A SegaGames Ltd. spokesman commented: "Playtech solutions along with our proprietary SEGAPass technology offers us the opportunity to provide an innovative, new online gaming experience to our players and deliver the SEGA experience to people in the same manner that they have enjoyed for decades."
Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech said "With our integrated platform and enhanced games suite, we feel that we've given [SegaGames] the tools to expand their product offering, provide a secure and safe gaming experience, and ultimately bring greater value to the SEGA community."
