The Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge Five is set to begin on October 30th at the Cherokee Casino in Catoosa.

Nguyen has acted as the host of the tournament since the inaugural event in 2005, reports Poker News Daily.

The online publication states that the event is unusual in that it is not dominated by no-limit hold'em.

Among the games that can be played are two variations of Omaha, a HORSE tournament and a short-handed event.

David Stewart, chief executive officer of Cherokee Nations Enterprises, commented: "There will be 30 tables in the ballroom for the tournament and any overflow will be down in the poker room."

He added that they are ready to offer cash games of any variety of poker in the main poker room once the players move upstairs.

Scotty Nguyen recently won the WSOP HORSE event but the victory was soured by criticism of the player's drunken antics at the table.
