3.2.10 – Pokerstars marketers are putting a uniquely Internet poker spin on Tourism Australia's winning campaign concept The Best Job in the World.
The idea is to send a winning poker player off on a trip-of-a-lifetime tour of the Australian and New Zealand poker tournament circuit.
The Pokerstars Dream Job Australia promotion will award one lucky player a $100 000 contract with PokerStars to live the "jet-setting poker player" lifestyle for a year. The prize includes $40 000 for tournament buy-ins and a $5 000 a month salary.
Players interested in vying for the top spot will find free qualifiers on the Pokerstars site Saturdays to Thursdays from now through to March 25th, with weekly finals take place on Fridays and a Grand Final on March 27.
The top 10 finishers in the Grand Final will compete for the top spot as they tour the tourneys, publicising their exploits as they go. After six weeks it will be up to the poker community to decide the winner.
Pokerstars has also introduced a new poker club for women only that will give them an opportunity to be at the tables when the sixth edition of its EPT Grand Final takes place in Monte Carlo on April 27th.
The PokerStars Luxury Ladies Poker Club will be running daily and weekly satellites designed to give members a chance to participate in the Euro 1 100 buy-in Ladies Championship, planned to run during the Grand Final at the Columbus Monaco. The prize package is worth Euro 3 500 and includes the buy-in, five nights accommodation at the hotel, Euro 700 in cash for travel expenses and a place Vanessa Rousso’s Ladies Boot Camp, worth Euro 300.
The winning women also receive a ladies’ goodie bag containing PokerStars women’s apparel and an invitation to an exclusive party in Monte Carlo.
