An online player who goes by the alias of METZMAGNY has emerged as the winner in the Sunday Million after a four-way chop.
The event had a total prize pool in excess or $1.5 million, more than was guaranteed by gaming company PokerStars.
This was largely due to the large turnout for the event, which attracted a field of 7,836 gamers.
At the final table, the smallest prize was picked up by tickkid who earned just shy of $11,000 after being sent to the rail first.
The top four gamers shared the main prize, with METZMAGNY finishing with the largest share, pocketing $147,820.
Other players to make more than $100,000 in the competition were ldgii, h2oace and jiiacstrap.
METZMAGNY ended up playing against ldgii in heads-up play and eventually won when his opponent went all-in with pocket fives.
When the flop was revealed, the eventual champion hit a higher pair, and when no other five appeared to give ldgii a set, METZMAGNY claimed the win.
Last week the Sunday Million was won by darkillermax who took down $174,656 after splitting the chips with salvo58.
