At the end of the second flight of day one at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Festa al Lago, Brian Rast finished with the most chips.

Despite his strong performance, the overall chip leader is still Antonio Esfandiari who amassed 265,000 after knocking out Scott Montgomery.

A total of 368 players started the tournament in a bid to win the first prize of $1,411,015.

Those who miss out on the top spot will still cash if they finish in the top 50, with a $21,315 going to competitors ending between 41st and 50th place.

Players who were knocked out yesterday included David Williams, Amir Vahedi, Patrik Antonius and John Phan.

Rast has cashed in major competitions on seven occasions, his largest win coming in season five of the WPT when he came in third in a no-limit hold'em event to pocket $101,230.
