Shane Hellyer, otherwise known as Shane147 will receive a gold bracelet for his victory in the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).

In an interview with PokerNews, the internet star revealed that the jewellery was meant to be silver this year but the WCOOP have decided to make an exception for him.

However, in recognition of his achievement, the organisers have decided to award him a gold one.

British players have made 48 final tables at the WCOOP but none have managed to emerge triumphant.

However, Shane147 defeated 7,217 other gamers in online play to win the $215 no-limit hold'em event and $202,409.

Hellyer decided to take part in the competition after making a saving when purchasing a car. He then proceeded to play for a total of 19 hours to secure his victory.

The main event of the WCOOP was won by a player who went by the alias of ckingusc who took home more than $1 million in prize money.
