When dealt one deuce, you first need to determine if a wild royal flush is possible. If it is, you should hold all the cards involved in the wild royal flush draw. If the deuce completes a hand of four of a kind or higher, those cards for that combination should be held. If those possibilities are not there, you must try for the following hands in decreasing order of importance: four cards to a straight flush with the lowest card being five; three of a kind, straight, or flush; four cards to a lower straight flush; three cards to a royal flush and three cards to a straight flush with the lowest card being a six.
When you are dealt two deuces you should check to see if you have a hand ranking of four of a kind or higher. If you do then you should hold those cards. If not you should then hold cards that make up four cards to a royal flush. After that you can try to hold cards that make a straight flush with the lowest card being a six. If none of those possibilities are there you should hold the two deuces and draw three more cards.
Optimum strategy for getting dealt three deuces is to hold all the cards provided that they make a royal flush or five of a kind, with cards ranked at ten or higher. Otherwise you should hold the cards that gives you a chance to hit a royal flush with the three deuces. If you’re lucky enough to be dealt four deuces right off you will get paid 200 to 1 on your bet. You should hold the four deuces and the other card will become irrelevant.
