Tuesday October 20,2015 : VULCUN WITHDRAWS FROM FLORIDA AND NEVADA (Update)
E-sports companies beat a hasty retreat – for now.
E-sports firm Vulcun has informed customers of its exit from Nevada and Florida State markets in the U.S. following the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s determination on the legality of daily fantasy sports.
A statement on Vulcun’s blog said: “Effective immediately, Vulcun users residing in Nevada can no longer participate in paid fantasy contests on our site.
Current users out of Nevada have until this weekend (10/18) to withdraw winnings. Paid contests after 10/16/15 are not allowed. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
In related news, DraftKings has reportedly appointed former Attorney General of Massachusetts Martha Coakley as an outside advisor on legislative and regulatory matters.
