2008 Wsop Now Heads up - Demidov and Eastgate scheduled to mix it up .The unofficial day-end chip counts as the session wrapped up until 10pm Monday showed Demidov holding a comfortable lead on $79,500,000 with Eastgate on $57,725,000.


VEGAS GLITZ AS WSOP FINAL STARTS - Showgirls, rowdy supporters and the bright lights of television set the scene.


Wsop Final Table Starts This Weekend - Standby for plenty of poker action as the final 9 players assemble in Las Vegas.


TAKING A LOOK AT THE WSOP FINAL TABLE NINE - By November, these finalists will be poker celebs.When they meet again, it will be to compete for a total of $32 633 446, with the first place they all aspire to earning over $9 million and all save the ninth-place finisher walking away with at least a million dollars.


Wsop Final Table - After more than 3 hours of ten-handed play, the final nine finish play in the early hours of the morning.


Wsop Day 7 - WSOP final table within reach on Day 7.Day 7 at the 39th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas saw the 27 players left out of a Main Event entry field of 6 844 sitting down to decide who the last 9 players on the final table would be.


Wsop Day 6 - Original Main Event entry field now down to just 27 - and Hellmuth is gone


Wsop Day 5 - Day 5 closes with unofficial top chip count at $5.7 million.


Wsop Day 4 - Day 4 action was called to a close at 189 players as we went to press, and will continue tomorrow as the organisers strive to get the field down to 27 players


Wsop End Day 3 - Day 3 came to an end with 474 players qualified to go through to Day 4, and former WSOP champs Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan still in contention, albeit not in the top ten chip counts.


Wsop Day 3 - Day 3 saw 1 308 players, still with a liberal sprinkling of poker pros, taking their seats with the chance to at least make the money bubble, which will extend down to the 666th player


Wsop Day 2a Update - When Day 2A in the World Series of Poker Main Event heats started there were 1 251 survivors from the Day 1A and 1B action taking their seats at the tables at the Rio in Las Vegas , by days end only 466 have made it through to Day 3.


Wsop Day 2A - Tuesday saw the start of the Day 2 heats at the 39th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, with 1 251 survivors from Day 1A and 1B gathering to commence the next round of attrition in Day 2A. Mark Garner of Little Rock, Arkansas held the chip lead on almost 195 000 chips, chased by Brandon Adams on 176 450.


Wsop End Of Day 1 Rounds - The 39th World Series of Poker Main Event action through the four heats of Day One completed this week with the end of Day 1D, which saw 1 652 survivors going forward to the Day 2 series, including former World Champions Phil Hellmuth, Carlos Mortensen, Johnny Chan and the current reigning champion Jerry Yang.


Wsop Day 1D - Main Event entries top 2007. Main Event entries for the 39th World Series of Poker have comfortably overtaken those for last year's event, suggesting that despite US restrictions and adverse economic conditions, the game is still very much alive and kicking

Wsop Main Event Day 1B - 636 survive day 1a, and 623 make it from Day 1b.Two more Day 1 rounds will be played over the next few days before the survivors battle it out again in the Day 2 lists.


Wsop Main Event - Day 1a - Dwan, Mackey, Benyamine, Pham and "Devilfish" Ulliott already eliminated.


Wsop Event 53 - 823 players finally took their seats in a bid to snare the last preliminary bracelet and a main prize of over a quarter million dollars and Matt Graham wins the $1 500 buy-in Limit Hold'em Shootout.


Wsop Event 52 - Daneshgar wins $625 443 main prize and an elusive bracelet.


Wsop Event 50 - Irish poker pro Martin Smyth emerged the winner of Event 50, the $10 000 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha competition at the World Series of Poker this week, surviving a field of 381 players who generated an event prize-pool of some $3.5 million.

Wsop event 49 - The Sacramento poker pro J.C. Tran has finally achieved a personal goal by winning Event 49, the $1 500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em contest at the World Series of Poker this week, surviving an original entry field of 2 718 players and a tough international final table.


WSOP H.O.R.S.E. FINAL TABLE IS SET - The start of Day 4 of the multi-style $50 000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E.competition saw a field whittled down to 24 top players, with the chip lead held by Michael DeMichele, only just ahead of Daniel Negreanu and Barry Greenstein.

Wsop Event 42 - Dan LeCourse , A retired police detective from Toledo, Ohio took the 39th World Series of Poker Event 42, the $1 000 buy-in Seniors World Championship title this week, surviving a massive entry field of 2 218 players to take home a gold bracelet and the top prize of $368 832.


Wsop Event 39 - Woo's victory after 40 hands of heads up play against Matthew Wood earned him the $631 656 main prize in an event that saw a massive 2 720 entries .


Wsop Event 38 Winner - $244 546 payday for Kitai. 605 players - slightly more than last year - signed up for the event.


Wsop Event 36 and 37 update - Hougaard holds off last minute challenge, and Benyamine gets the jewelry at last!


Wsop Event 34 - Layne Flack Wins - This week he showed 320 entrants in Event 34, the $1 500 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys tourney, that he still has the mojo, adding to his bank balance and bracelet collection against top global players.


Events 32 and 33 of the Wsop - Events 32 and 33 at the 39th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas concluded as the week came to a close, with Chris "Jesus" Ferguson narrowly missing out on a bracelet, but Jose Luis Velador taking the major cash for the day home.
