Wsop Event 54 End Day 3
Wednesday July 6, 2011 : At the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas the last of the standard events has kicked off prior to the main event’s launch on Thursday.
Day three of event 54: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em was completed late Tuesday night with 9 players still battling for the top prize and the bracelet after the record initial field of 4,576 was further reduced in an exciting day of poker action.
45 players were at the re-start on the third day of this mammoth competition, with Anibal Andres in the lead on 799,000, followed by Stanislav Alekhin with 786,000. All of the remaining players were in the money and guaranteed to take home at least $13,137, although the main prize of $648,880 and a bracelet was clearly everyone’s ambition.
Play halted late night Tuesday at the end of Level 26 when Mario Doria was eliminated in 10th place to form the final table, which consists of Maxim Lykov in the chip lead on 3,875,000, Dror Michaelo (1,980,000), Joshua Evans (1,670,000), Sebastien Roy (1,400,000), Douglas Mackinnon (1,160,000), Warren Wooldridge (1,030,000), Harald Olsen (1,025,000), Stanislav Alekhin (820,000) and Ren Ho Zhang (785,000).
Chip leader Lykov experienced a truly up-and-down day as his fortunes and opponents changed and fluctuated, driving him right down to just 250 000 chips at one stage before he fought back into first contention and then dominance.
Starting Wednesday afternoon Vegas time, the fourth day should finally decide the winner.
