Wednesday July 13, 2011 : Combined fields will reconvene Thursday to start Day Three
 
The second of the World Series of Poker main event Day 2 flights completed at level 10 late night Tuesday in Las Vegas, with Ben Lamb continuing a successful run this year by topping the chip counts on 551,600, chased hard by internet whizz Kevin Saul on 542,200 after a solid day that started at noon and ended just on midnight.
 
Around 1,080 players survived a Day 2b entry field of 2,490 comprising players from Days 1b and 1d, with Aleksandr Mozhnyakov holding the chip lead; he remained in the race on 478,600 when the chips were bagged for the day.
 
Top ten players from Day 2b were Ben Lamb, Kevin Saul, Ryan D'Angelo (462,300) Narendra Banwari, Nicolas Fierro, Martin Torheim, internet high stakes ace Patrik Antonius, Josh Gibson, Josh Weizeo and Ryan Rinker.
 
The remaining players – thought to number around 2,000 – will have a day off before gathering as a combined field for Day 3 of the event on Thursday.
 
There are still plenty of big names among the Day 2b survivors, including Amit Makhija, Jeffrey Lisandro, Lyle Berman, Ryan D’Angelo, Patrik Antonius, celebrity player and Simpson’s creator Sam Simon, Tony Hachem, Jeff Madsen, Victor Ramdin, Dan Kelly, Justin Bonomo, November Niners Joseph Cheong and John Racener, Erick Lindgren.
 
Notable eliminations during the day included former WSOP main event champ Joe Hachem, Todd Brunson, J.C. Tran, Matt Jarvis, Andy Frankenberger, Paul Wasicka, and David Ulliott.
