2012 WSOP Event 25

Friday June 15, 2012 : Event 25 – $1.500 buy-in Limit Hold'em Shootout is now in the 43rd World Series of Poker books as a victory for Brian Meinders, who survived a star-studded field of 365 top players, including Matt Matros, Greg Mueller, Justin Bonomo, Victor Ramdin, Scott Seiver and Mike Leah, to make the final table and then carry the heads up against Darin Thomas.
 
After three days of action Meinders faced a final table that comprised Darin Thomas, Christopher Vitch, Victor Ramdin, Brock Parker, Preston Derden, Matthew Schreiber, Sean Rice and Ian Johns.
 
That was whittled down to a heads up between Meinders and Darin Thomas, with Meinders holding a chip lead that he retained throughout and used to defeat his opponent.  Meinders took home his first bracelet and the main prize of $116,118, leaving his rival with the runner up check for $71,704.
