And a hefty $665 397 pay cheque
 
Kansas poker player Brett Shaffer has emerged victorious in Event 53 at the World Series of Poker outlasting a field of 2816 players in the $1 500 No Limit Hold'em event.
 
Shaffer played it slow and steady at a final table that included experienced poker pros such as Loni Harwood, Mike Watson and David Vamplew.
 
Playing it down to the final two, Shaffer when into heads-up with David Vamplew as the final table played into an unscheduled fourth day.
 
The win marks Shaffer's second career WSOP final table as he finished sixth in the 2010 WSOP $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Shootout event.  Along with the title, he takes home a gold bracelet and a $665,397 prize.
