2014 WSOP Event 30

Monday June 16,2014 :  ONLINE ACE WINS HIS FIRST WORLD SERIES OF POKER BRACELET

"Cal42688" adds a prestigious WSOP win to an already impressive c.v.

Online poker ace Calvin "Cal42688" Anderson, who has already amassed well over $3 million in career earnings, showed once again that he is more than comfortable around a top live tournament table over the weekend when he won event 30 at the World Series of Poker – a $1,500 buy-in Seven Card Stud Eight-or-Better competition.

The win followed an eighth for the young pro in the $10,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. championship for $50,966 recently.

588 players, many of them respected names in the game, entered for event 30, building a prize pool of $793,800.

By the third day the field was down to a final table comprising Anderson in the lead, Joe Tehan, Eric Kurtzman, Levon Torosyan, Melissa Burr, Sanjay Pandya, Jimmy Fricke and John Myung.

Anderson leveraged his chip lead to plough relentlessly through the final table until, with a 5 to 2 chip advantage, he faced Joe Tehan in the heads up.

The only surprise was that the final clash lasted as long as it did – just under an hour – before Anderson dismissed Tehan for $118,014 and claimed the main prize of $190,538 – and his first WSOP bracelet.
