The 45th World Series of Poker is officially underway as Event 1: $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em Event kicked off at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas today (Tuesday).

80 000 poker players are expected to enter the tournament and WSOP organisers predict they'll give out more than $200 million in prize money.
 
The main event which begins July 5, 2014 carries an expected first prize of $10 million while the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop returns for a second year.
 
New events include a $1 000 Pot Limit Omaha event, the first -ever Dealer's Choice event, where players will have 16 games to choose from, and a Monster Stack No Limit Hold'em tournament, which offers players ten times the starting stack of your typical bracelet event.
