2015 WSOPE Event 3

Wednesday October 14,2015 : BRIT POKER PRO TAKES EVENT 3 AT THE WORLD SERIES OF POKER EUROPE

Richard Gryko bests 161 entrants to claim Euro 126,345 main prize.

Congratulations to UK poker pro and Omaha specialist Richard Gryko who has triumphed in the third bracelet event of this year's World Series of Poker Europe, the Euro 3,250 Eight-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha, besting an entry field of 160 other hopefuls in Berlin.

Gryko's reward was his first WSOP winner's bracelet and Euro 126,345 after beating a star-studded final table and the formidable Canadian pro Mike Leah in a tough heads-up match.

Gryko and Leah were part of an international final table that included respected names like Mikkel Plum, Roberto Romanello, Lawrence Lazar, Benjamin Pollak, Max Pescatori and Ismael Bojang, all intent on claiming the biggest share of a Euro 468,510 prize pool.

Entering the heads up phase of the contest, Leah was ahead by a 2 to 1 chip count, but he couldn't hold on to his advantage after a Gryko double up, setting the scene for a long struggle in which the lead changed several times.

The four-and-a-half-hour heads up was a draining affair, fiercely contested by two evenly matched players, but it was the Brit who emerged the victor, leaving Leah with the runner-up prize of Euro 78,150.

Other cashes among final table players looked like this:

Mikkel Plum – Euro 55,755
Roberto Romanello – Euro 40,480
Lawrence Lazar – Euro 29,940
Benjamin Pollak – Euro 22,535
Max Pescatori – Euro 17,240
Ismael Bojang – Euro 13,445
