2017 MPN Poker Tour

The MPN announces its first stop for the 2017 MPN Poker Tour, alongside a unique Cash Game Adventure.

The first MPN Poker Tour (MPNPT) festival of 2017 will take place in Vienna, running from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th January, and offers a €200,000 guarantee on the Main Event. The MPNPT returns to the Montesino, following a successful stop in February of this year, which generated a prize pool of €241,500, greatly exceeding the guarantee of €200,000.

Main Event packages, worth €1,500, are available online and players can qualify via any of the MPN participating card rooms through a variety of satellites, with buy-ins starting as low as €0.25. Each €1,500 package includes:

  • Entry into the €550 MPNPT Main Event
  • Entry into the €150 MPNPT Austria Poker Cup
  • Accommodation for four nights at the Roomz Hotel, Vienna, including breakfast for the player and a guest
  • A welcome party
  • €400 towards travel and expenses

In addition to the MPNPT Vienna, there will be a unique event, MPN’s Vienna 9, taking place in the same venue on Wednesday 25th January, the day before the festival begins. Nine players will battle it out live, with €30,000 in cash up for grabs.

Players can win a seat at the live cash game by winning cash drops in the MPN’s Vienna Cash Game Adventure promotion. During the promotion, which runs from Friday 16th December to Friday 6th January, every five minutes, €2 will be dropped into a random cash game player’s account. This is free cash – no strings attached!

Who will make up the MPN’s Vienna 9 will be determined via three free-to-enter online tournaments taking place on Friday 23rd December, Friday 30th December and Friday 6th January. But to be eligible to enter one of these special qualifying tournaments, players must have received at least one virtual cash drop from the Vienna Cash Game Adventure in the prior week. The more cash drops a player receives, the more starting chips they get. The top three players from each tournament will automatically qualify as an MPN Vienna 9 player, and will receive an all-expenses paid trip to play for €30,000!

Alex Scott, Head of Product (Network Games) at Microgaming, comments: “The 2016 Vienna stop was so popular and successful, going back to Austria’s capital was a no-brainer. But this year we are combining it with a unique live cash game, the MPN Vienna 9, which adds a new dimension to the event.”

Away from the MPNPT, the MPN team has also been busy with product developments, including a change to Fish Party SNGs, reducing effective rake from 10.17% to 5.85%.
