The highs and lows of internet poker are portrayed in "Drawing Dead".
 
Yet another documentary on internet poker is set for launch in October 2013, when the producers of Drawing Dead – The Highs And Lows Of Online Poker release the film on satellite channel DirecTV in the United States.
 
The pre-release blurb claims that the doccie examined two sides of the popular pastime; the excitement of big rewards and the downside of addictive gambling.
 
It uses two players to illustrate the story – Dusty ‘Leatherass' Schmidt ( a pro with a colourful history in the game), and erstwhile athlete and musician Michael Korpi, who claims that his compulsive liking for poker had a negative impact on his life.
 
The documentary is the inaugural work of a one-time sports equipment manager turned film-maker called Michael Weeks, who characterises the theme as one of "wasted talent", which perhaps gives an idea of the way in which the story is treated.
