Will Pokerstars Act Against third party data mining

Monday December 28,2015 : WILL POKERSTARS ACT AGAINST THIRD PARTY DATA MINING NEXT YEAR?

Growing number of complaints from players.

The issue of third party data mining on Pokerstars surfaced again on the 2+2 forum over the weekend as a growing number of players expressed resentment at their hands being watched and saved by software deployed by data firms, often for sale.

It's an issue that won't go away, and in the past Pokerstars officials have revealed that the company has plans to deal with it  possibly as early as the first quarter of the new year.

The current ‘third party software intervention" complaints concern the poker company's popular Spin&Go tournaments and prompted company spokesman Baard Dahl to post that Pokerstars is taking steps to put a stop to the unwanted surveillance.

However, as he pointed out, this is not as easy to implement as some might think:

“This is not as easy as flipping a switch, but we have dealt with the issue in the Zoom games and we expect that we will be able to roll out a solution for the Spin & Gos as well,” Dahl wrote. “We are hoping to do so in Q1 of 2016, though it is possible we will have to revise that date. After the Spin & Go solution is in place, our other games will be covered as quickly as possible."
