The new champ also gets an automatic $25,000 entry in the WPT World Championship pokerfest at the Bellagio later this month.

Babakhani, holding 6.6 million in chips had a major advantage when he faced a final table that comprised Barry Kruger, Jason Duval, Tao Liang, Martin Leblanc and Jonathan Bardier.

Babakhani eliminated most of the final table to confront Barry Kruger in the heads up. Fighting a 2.5 to 1 chip advantage held by Babakhani, Kruger produced an impressive display for the following hour but then hit a cooler and was unable to prevail. His second-placing reward was worth $272,555.
