Preparing for new online casino gaming regulations
The Canadian software developer Chartwell Technology has scored an important internet casino games supply deal in preparation for the new Italian regulations opening up online casino gaming, expected to be implemented around Q3 this year.
The multi- year agreement enables Italy's giant online gambling operator Microgame to deploy Chartwell table games, card games and other online casino content via the company's Rapid Game Deployment technology. The portfolio will include Chartwell's latest card game, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, which was first introduced to the online world by Chartwell last month.
Microgame is the leading service provider in the Italian online gaming market today, which delivers revenues of Euro 4.8 billion in 2010. The Italian firm provides services, solutions and games to about 100 operators with almost 150 gaming websites in what is arguably Europe's biggest and fastest growing online gaming market, and boasts a market share of over 27 percent of the Italian market.
In 2010 Microgame's customers collectively generated a gross gaming turnover of more than Euro 1.5 billion. The company manages the brands "People's Poker" and "People's Bingo", the largest poker and bingo networks in Italy.
