New Ceo For Pokerstars

Former Dragonfish chief executive takes on a major new challenge

The wide speculation on what persuaded industry executive Gabi Campos to leave 888.com's b2b subsidiary Dragonfish, and where he would be going, has been brought to an end by the news that he will take up the reins of Pokerstars as chief executive officer in October this year.

The experienced and energetic Campos, who enjoyed a successful tenure at Dragonfish, is already working in a consultancy capacity with the world's biggest online poker provider after his surprise departure from Dragonfish in June this year.

The family ownership at Pokerstars will remain a strong influence, with founder Isai Scheinberg as chief technical officer, and his son Mark as chairman.

This week the company briefed Pokerstars managers, assuring them that the company remained involved, and that it would continue to build on the success of the last decade.
