Lock Poker Suing Jose Macedo ?

Saturday August 20,2011 :  ONLINE POKER SITE MAY SUE FORMER POKER PRO

Lock Poker is less than pleased with the alleged activities of former pro team member Jose Macedo

The rise of Portuguese pro Jose Macedo took place remarkably quickly this year as the man known as the "Poker Prodigy" burst onto the online poker scene from relative obscurity, winning big and attracting the praise of leading players.

He was taken on to the pro team at Lock Poker, but recent allegations of multi-accounting and Skype "sweating" on that site led to not only his downfall and dismissal, but dents to the reputation of two other top players implicated in the scandal.

Now it appears that Macedo's troubles are far from over, with Lock Poker spokesman Eric "Rizen" Lynch informing members on the twoplustwo message board that the company is seriously considering legal action against the Portuguese pro.

"Lock is currently pursuing legal action against Jose so we are unable to make a substantial comment at this time," Lynch posted in an active thread on the issue on the message board.

"We do realize that ongoing silence can lead to people jumping to conclusions. What happened goes against the very core of our player based philosophy and we intend on exercising our legal rights in the most severe degree. We will keep you updated as things progress.”

The disgraced Macedo has reportedly admitted on twoplustwo that he had engaged in illegal activity, ‘confessing' that he had been involved in scamming high-stakes poker players in collaboration with two other professionals.

Daniel “jungleman12” Cates, and player coach/instructor Haseeb Qureshi are allegedly implicated in the scam.
