Marvin Rettenmaier Pokerstars European Poker Tour Prague High Roller

Sunday December 16, 2012 :  RETTENMAIER WINS EPT PRAGUE HIGH-ROLLER

Euro 365,300 payday for German ace

The Euro 10,000 buy-in Pokerstars European Poker Tour Prague High Roller event contest was won by German ace Marvin Rettenmaier over the weekend, giving him a useful Euro 365,300 take-home after a tough, two hour heads up against fellow German Fabian Quoss.

The event, which drew 113 entrants and created a prize pool of Euro 1,107,400 took an extra day to reach a formidable final table that comprised Quoss and Rettenmaier, along with Finnish ace Juha Helppi (who finished third), Philippe Ktorza, Sorel Mizzi (chip leader), recent WPT Prague victor Marcin Wydrowski, Jason Mercier, Andrey Gulyy and Aubin Cazals.

Four of the finalists were eliminated in the first level of play before the contestants settled in for some expert and exciting poker, but eventually Helppi's exit in third set the scene for the hard-fought heads up.

After a tense battle Rettenmaier was able to increase his lead to around a 4 to 1 ratio of chips, which Quoss was unable to overcome despite a valiant effort.

Quoss collected a pay check worth Euro 210,300 for his time and trouble, whilst Rettenmaier celebrated yet another major win in what has been a banner year for him, with back-to-back World Poker Tour titles and at least two six-figure pay-days in major events.
