Former Air Force ace enjoys a Euro 185 120 payday

Indiana live and internet poker pro McLean Karr has clinched yet another tournament victory, taking down the WPT Vienna High Roller title this week and collecting another fat paycheck – this one for Euro 185 120.

The young pro, who honed his skills whilst studying Applied Math and Statistics at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, has amassed career winnings of $1.5 million on live tourneys and $2.1 million in internet competitions, where he plays under the pseudonym ‘pureprofitfour'.

Although substantial, the win is not his biggest – in 2010 alone he pulled down the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star for $878 500, following that later in the year with a $423 500 victory in an NHLE live contest and a $417 000 paycheck on FTOPS. He's also an EPT London High Roller Turbo champion.

This week it was the Euro 10 000 buy-in World Poker Tour High Roller competition in his sights, where a strong field of 50 players assembled, creating a Euro 500 000 prize-pool.

Playing with confidence and aggression, Karr eventually faced off against five other players on a final table that comprised EPT Grand Final High Roller 2010 Tobias Reinkemeier of Germany; Nicolo Calia, Govert Metaal, Kristijonas Andrulis and Ronnie Kaiser.

Karr was in charge most of the way, although Reinkemeier gave him some spirited opposition, ending as the runner-up after a brief heads up, and taking home the second placing prize of Euro 104 560.
