Sportradar extends deal with SportStat and World Snooker

Monday May 6,2013 : SPORTSTAT EXTEND DATA PARTNERSHIP WITH WORLD SNOOKER

Enables World Snooker to continue to deliver own official data

Sports and betting-related data provider Sportradar has extended the data partnership between its subsidiary SportStat and World Snooker Ltd.

The relationship initiated in 2010 will continue for a further five years with the continuation of the development of data services over a number of platforms until 2018.

Barry Hearn, Chairman of World Snooker, commenting on the deal said: “World Snooker has recognised the importance of delivering its own official data across a variety of media. The Live Scoring site attracted 8.5 million visitors in 2012 and with over 10 million forecasted for 2013 here it is clear that the sport has become truly global. We are pleased, therefore, that in conjunction with SportStat’s merger with leading sports data expert Sportradar, we have agreed to extend the terms of our agreement for a further five year period. We are excited that their new partnership will enable even more exciting live betting and media products to enter the market.”

Carsten Koerl, group chief executive officer, Sportradar, added: “We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership as we are convinced that together we can shape future developments and play an active part in the creation of an even more exciting product portfolio for the World of Snooker.”
