PARTOUCHE POKER TOUR SUED BY TEKINTAMGAC

German publication hochgepokert.com reports that Ali Tekintamgac is suing the Partouche Poker Tour for Euro 1.5 million.
 
The law suit is based on the former WPT Spanish Championship winner being disqualified just hours prior to the final table at the PPT Main Event which played out at the Palm Beach Casino in Cannes, France towards the end of last year.
 
The disqualification was delivered on the grounds that Tekintamgac allegedly used confederates posing as members of the media to gain an unfair advantage over his competitors.
 
Tekintamgac's legal counsel Filiz Tinas said that although Partouche filed a complaint with the French authorities, and handed over material to support the complaint, that nothing had come of the investigation and no criminal proceedings were filed.
 
The German poker pro is said to be asking for Euro 1.3 million (the main prize of the tournament) as well as Euro 200 000 in damages to his reputation.
 
The first court appearance is set to be held in Paris on 1 April 2011.
