The Weather Lottery Signs another online gambling licence

Leicester City joins growing stable of clubs going online

The Weather Lottery's online gambling venture FCBetz.com involving UK football clubs signed its fourth licensee this week in Championship football club Leicester City FC.

TWL raises funds for non-profit organisations such as sports clubs, schools and universities through organised FC Lotto lotteries, but has recently and additionally branched out into the commercial online gambling sector with the FCBetz brand, offering a full range of online gaming products to licensees that include Coventry City, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday in addition to newly signed Leicester City.

The multi-year contract with Leicester City was announced this week by TWL chairman Lord Razzall, who said: “The club has a great history and a large loyal fan base and came close to promotion to the English Premier League last season.

“Once again, we are delighted to become a gaming and lottery partner and look forward to a successful and profitable relationship to the benefit of the club, its fans and The Weather Lottery over the coming seasons.”

Lord Razzall also revealed that more licensees are in prospect; the company is in negotiations with other clubs and expects to make further announcements soon.
